We asked our sonorous ship to call out, to sing her silent aria so the notes would chase each other into the chasms of the lake, returning only when they’d found you hiding beneath three hundred sixty-five feet of shimmering viridian crepe.

I love the idea of a ship singing out into the empty silence – eerie, mystical, melancholy, beautiful.
It did remind me a lot of whale song.
That makes sense. They have sonar abilities I think.
I love how you wove music into this.
I like how you’ve set this up as a second rescue mission (enjoyed reading the link!). Love the sounds–sonorous/ship/sing/silent.

That one grabbed me, too. 🙂
I clicked on the link and now I understand the background – makes it even more amazing to read. I love “shimmering viridian crepe”.
Thanks, Claudette. I was trying for magical where ships sing arias, but it just came out vague, didn’t it? Oh well.
Not entirely Nate, I had a sense of magic, but for me reading the link actually made it more emotional and added some depth. Writing is hard sometimes, isn’t it? You think you have it worked out, but the words have other ideas.
